Born in Charleston, South Carolina, Mackenzie Rosman moved away from the South when she was 4 and signed up with a talent agency in Los Angeles, California. She was in several national commercials before trying out for 7th Heaven. She shook everybody's hand and introduced herself and the character that she was trying out for, "Ruthie."
